SDPA is a President's Volunteer Service Awards - Certifying Organization

In June 2022, SDPA was awarded Certifying Organization status by the President's Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA) program led by AmeriCorps and managed in partnership with Points of Light.  PVSA was founded in 2003 by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation.  PVSA honors the volunteers who spend their time and talents in service of others.

Volunteer Awards Eligibility

Bronze

Young adults between 16-25 who have 75 or more hours of volunteer work certified by SDPA or another eligible Certifying Organization.

Adults over 26 years of age who have 100 or more hours of volunteer work certified by SDPA or another eligible Certifying Organization.

Silver

Young adults between 16-25 who have 175 or more hours of volunteer work certified by SDPA or another eligible Certifying Organization.

Adults over 26 years of age who have 250 or more hours of volunteer work certified by SDPA or another eligible Certifying Organization.

Gold

Young adults between 16-25 who have 250 or more hours of volunteer work certified by SDPA or another eligible Certifying Organization.

Adults over 26 years of age who have 500 or more hours of volunteer work  certified by SDPA or another eligible Certifying Organization.

Lifetime Achievement Award

Young adults between 16-25 and adults over 26 years of age who have 4,000 or more hours of volunteer work certified by SDPA or another eligible Certifying Organization.  Eligibility requirements are as follows:

  1. Recipient must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.  The proposed recipient may present a social security card, passport or green card to satisfy this requirement.
  2. Recipient may not be a registered sex offender.  It is crucial that all Lifetime Achievement Award recipients exhibit characteristics that honor the Office of the President of the United States; therefore, one should not be listed on the National Sex Offender Registry.
  3.  Certifying Organizations must provide 3-5 sentences describing how the recipient earned the Lifetime Achievement Award.
