Terms of Use.  The San Diego Paralegal Association’s website content (sometimes referred to herein as “Site”) is owned and provided by San Diego Paralegal Association (hereinafter “SDPA”). Your use of this Site is subject to the terms and conditions as they are contained in this document and constitutes your acceptance and agreement to be bound by all of the terms and conditions contained herein. We reserve the right to change the terms and conditions at any time without notice, and you should review this document frequently.  Your use of this Site is limited to personal and noncommercial use unless other uses are expressly granted to you. You may download or make a single copy of material from this Site for your personal and noncommercial use. You may not copy, distribute, modify, transmit, reuse, re-post or otherwise display this Site’s content for public or commercial purposes without the express written permission of SDPA.

Intellectual Property.  Unless otherwise indicated, this Site and its contents (including, but not limited to, all text, photographs, images, video, and audio) are the exclusive property of SDPA and are protected by copyright, trademark, trade dress, and other laws. © San Diego Paralegal Association. All rights reserved.

Security.  We accept user comments, on-line employment applications/resumés, and other documents only from Web browsers that permit communication through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. This means you’ll be unable to inadvertently submit an online order through an unsecured connection. Please note that any information sent to us by any means other than one of the built-in forms on our Site (such as an e-mail message generated manually by you) will not necessarily be sent through an encrypted or secured connection.

Privacy.  SDPA is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of visitors and members to our Site as well as the privacy of users of the Site.  As part of our commitment to protecting your privacy online, we have written this policy to help you understand how we gather information about users of the Site, how we use the information we gather and what steps we take to protect the information you share with us.

For visitors, we've structured the Site so that, in general, you can visit us on the Web without identifying yourself or revealing any personal information.

Moreover, if and when you choose to provide us with personally identifiable information (any information by which you can be identified), you can be assured that it will only be used to support your membership with SDPA.

What information do we collect?   When you sign up for SDPA membership, you provide us you’re your contact. Contact information typically includes your name, address, email address and phone number. We do not retain any credit card or other payment information.

We manage information with regard to your account status, membership selections, and bulletin board postings. In addition, we may store customers' electronic mail and other communications as a necessary incident to the transmission and delivery of those communications.

We may also ask you for personal information at other times, for example when you enter a sweepstakes, contest or other promotion.

How do we use this information?  We use the contact information you provide us to provide or enhance our service to you. We use payment information for payment processing purposes only.

Notice To/ Regarding Children Under the Age of 13.  SDPA does not knowingly collect or solicit personally identifiable information from or about children under 13 except as permitted by law. If we discover we have received any information from a child under 13 in violation of this policy, we will delete that information immediately. If you believe SDPA has any information from or about anyone under 13, please contact us at the address listed below.

Use of Cookies.  To enhance your experience with SDPA, our web host and their servers may use “cookies” to store user’s preferences.  Cookies are messages sent between SDPA and your browser which are saved as text files on your computer.  Cookies, by themselves, do not tell us your e-mail address or other personally identifiable information unless you choose to provide this information to us by, for example, requesting email alerts or additional information.  However, once you choose to furnish the site with personally identifiable information, this information may be linked to the data stored in cookies.

Users may customize their browsers to not accept cookies.  If you choose to not have your browser accept cookies from the SDPA Site, you will still be able to view the text on our Web pages.  Even if “cookies” are disabled, it shouldn’t make any difference in our service offerings on the Site.

Policy Governs Use; Changes to Privacy Policy.  The terms of this policy will govern the use and any information collected while it is in place.  SDPA reserves the right to change this policy at any time by posting revisions on the Site.  Changes to this privacy policy will be effective at the time they are posted to the Site.  This privacy policy is not intended to, and does not, create any contractual or other legal rights in or on behalf of any party.
